ROBOKINETIC TRADESHOW BAR
2019
Our Jägermeister booth for BCB convention was a puzzle of moving parts and interactive elements hidden inside the bars and back wall. Depending on the number of visitors and drinks poured, the horizontal escalation meter went from green mode (longdrinks) to yellow (cocktails) to red alert (shots). The current mode was also indicated on a screen in the back wall and on tablets inside the two separate corner bar elements.
In shot mode, the metro-tiled main countertop would automatically open up in the center to reveal a treasure chest filled with tiny Jägermeister bottles. In Cocktail mode, part of the back wall’s upper edge would swing open sideways and reveal a bottle elevator providing bigger Jägermeister bottles for mixing drinks.
On the left side, one of the back panels was constantly pulsing back and forth, with amplitude and frequency depending on the current mode. Two more automated shelves were hidden in the back wall and opened or closed automatically, one of them behind the main logo that could extend from or retract into the wall.
In addition to concept, design and construction work, a lot of wiring, hacking and debugging went into making it all work together.
